Dr. Nandita Pathak Selected for Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar 2009

Dr. Nandita Pathak a dedicated social worker from Deendayal Research Institute, Chitrakoot (Madhya Pradesh), is selected for Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar 2009 among the various nominations received this year from all over the country. Selection committee of Yuva Puraskar 2009 has selected nomination of Dr. Nandita Pathak to apperciate work done for ‘Employment Generation and Rural Development’.
Prof. Yeshwantro Kelkar Yuva Puraskar has been instiuted in 1991 to commemorate the inspiring life of the towering personality. It is a joint endeavour of ABVP and Vidyarthi Nidhi Trust. The objective is to encourage effort of young social workers in various fields of public service bring them in limelight and express gratitude towards them on behalf of the entire youth community. This Puraskar comprises of Rs 25000/- in cash a certificate and a moments.
After completing her post graduation in Food & Nutrition, when she met Padma Vibhushan Hon’ble Nanaji Deshmukh at Chitrakoot, Nanaji told her that ‘Girls like you should not be working for money but should serve society.’ It was the turning point in her life and since 1994 she has been committed to social service through Chitrakoot Project of Deen Dayal Research Institute (DRI) she conducted a self-reliance campaign in about 500 villages around Chitrakoot. The campaign also inculdes wiping out poverty illitercy ill health, ensuring life-long health, creating dispute free, clean and green villages. She contributed in establishing and managing ‘Udaymita Vidyapeeth’ the entreprenership centre started by DRI. Dr. Nanditaji also responsible for innovations carried out in the Chitrakoot Project ‘One Village, one product multilevel employment generation through self Help Group’. Dr. Nandita belives that without women participation, society cannot be fully developed therefore she organised women awarness programmes like ‘Annual Mahila Sangam’ etc. for motivation and uplifment. Apart from dedicated service in Chitrakoot project, Dr. Nandita Pathak has attened over about 100 national & International level seminars as a ‘Key note speaker.’ She is also remain a board member in many prestigious organisations and universities like Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, (New Delhi) Central Board for labour and Child Education and Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology council etc.
 ‘Prof.Yeshwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar 2009’ will be presented to Dr. Nandita Pathak on 1st November 2009 in the special function at 55th National conforence of ABVP which will be held at ‘Una’ (Himachal Pradesh) from 30th Oct 2009 to 1st Nov. 2009.
