Calculated move to malign the Indian forces in troubled Kashmir

BJP unit of Jammu & Kashmir said in a press release that there is a calculated move to malign the Indian forces in troubled Kashmir but it was unfortunate that the ruling leaders of New Delhi are trying to appease such elements instead of snubbing the operators from within and outside State Coalition of the Congress-National Conference.

This was alleged by the former Union Minister and the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta while addressing a meeting of the party activists. The meeting was convened to take stock of the preparations with regard to the forth coming visit of the party National President, Nitin Gadkari here on February 25. He said that BJP being a nationalist party has to play a major role in frustrating the evil designs of the separatists and semi-seccessionists.

Prof. Gupta said that issues are getting complicated in this part of the country because the Congress at the centre is having no Kashmir policy. Their one point agenda appears to be to sticking to power. It may be with the protagonists of Self-Rule or those of Autonomy seeking reversal of the integration process. The most controversial report on Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) by the retired Justice Sagheer has added fuel to the fire and the BJP is committed to oppose tooth and nail any measure aimed at weakening of the ties between this state and rest of India.

Referring to the problems facing the forces in this part of India, Prof. Gupta pointed out that men of the forces are coming from various parts of the country to this state to defend the borders as also to tackle the menace of cross border terror. But the elements hostile to India raise the boggy of violation of human rights and an attempt is being made to create the impression that the men of the forces are committing atrocities as if they are alien. And mysteriously the so-called secular parties sharing power with the Congress join hands with such elements and thus, the men of the forces are put in a quandary as even the ruling leaders resort to crying for taking stern action in a surcharged atmosphere of the valley.

The most astounding part of the entire melodrama is that even the ruling leaders of New Delhi start speaking in tunes with the such dubious personalities and thus, the men of the forces are left to face a hapless situation, he added and warned the ruling leadership that their this sort of approach would lead to demoralizing the forces fighting the proxy war launched by Pakistan.

The former Union Minister of State for Defence, Prof. Gupta, observed that on basis of his experience with the men of the forces one is proud that the Indian Army and para-military forces had been maintaining great regard for human rights. The protagonists of human rights, especially in the National Conference as also in the Congress, to have a look into their own inner that what type of violations had been committing the ultras and fundamentalists and why they kept silent when lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits and others were forced out form their homes and hearth in the valley and other parts of the state.

The BJP leader further said that if the ruling leaders are not having communal mindset, they should explain that whether the youngman of Jammu, Rajneesh Sharma was not done to death in police custody in Srinagar and why no action was taken against the guilty. Was it not a violation of the human rights, he questioned and maintained that the much of the problems in Jammu and Kashmir are but for communal approach of the Congress leadership.
